The World Association of Sand Therapy Professionals (WASTP) is a 501c (3) membership organization that was founded in 2019. It was created to support the integrity and ethical practice of sand therapy and to support greater access to sand therapy training throughout the world. WASTP honors the use of sand therapy from a diverse variety of clinical theoretical orientations.

Sabrina Thakur is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and Registered Play Therapist Supervisor in Southern California. She works in private practice, providing attachment based therapy and EMDR to preschool aged children. Sabrina also serves as an Associate Director for a local community mental health agency and enjoys developing trauma informed neurodevelopmental programs and training for the community. She has a passion for sharing her love of play therapy and sand tray and is excited to help further WASTP’s mission.
Sherry Fisher, LCSW, LCAC, RPT-S

Sherry maintains a private practice in Evansville, Indiana. She has previously served on the Indiana APT Board. Sherry has received training in Adlerian Play and Sand Tray therapy and Sandtray-Worldplay with Gisela de Dominico. Prior to private practice, Sherry was the Assistant Agency Director of Ireland Home Based services working with families involved with DCS. She has experience working in school based settings as well. Sherry provides consultation for clinicians interested in play therapy and sand therapy and has worked as an adjunct professor of Social Work at the University of Southern Indiana.

Dr. Roz is a psychologist, a Registered Play Therapist-Supervisor with APT, a Sandplay Teacher [isst-society.com sandplay.org] and holds national certification in school psychology. She trains therapists nationally and internationally. She has worked clinically with children and families for over 40 years. Her most recent book is: A Therapist’s Guide to Mapping the Girl Heroine’s Journey in Sandplay [Rowman & Littlefield 2018]. She was published most recently in an co-authored article on Jungian Play Therapy for the APT Play Therapy Magazine [2019, Vol. 14(3)], as well as authoring several articles in the Journal of Sandplay Therapy®.

Tammi Van Hollander , LCSW , RPT-S lives in Philadelphia, PA and has over 20 years of experience in family and play therapy. She has had extensive training at The Family and Play Therapy Center in Philadelphia. Tammi is an Advanced Training in The Nurtured Heart Approach© , provides supervision, and speaks internationally to parents and clinicians on attachment-based play therapy, expressive arts therapies, sandtray therapy, nature-based play therapy, & NHA. She is the owner of Main Line Play Therapy in Bryn Mawr, PA. Her work and creative interventions in the field of play therapy have been published and internationally recognized. Tammi is the author of a multi-sensory, attachment-based children’s book titled, Casey’s Greatness Wings: Teaching Mindfulness, Connection, and Courage to Children and creator of several Greatness products. She specializes in attachment, sand tray play therapy & sensory integration working with infants, children, families, and adults of all ages.

Marshall Lyles lives in the Austin, Texas, area and has 20 years of practice in family and play therapy. Drawing on lessons learned from working with attachment trauma in a variety of mental health settings, Marshall regularly teaches on trauma, expressive therapies, and attachment-informed family work around the globe. In addition to maintaining a small clinical practice, Marshall also conducts supervision and consultation sessions with counseling professionals who are pursuing EMDR certification and RPT status, often with a particular focus on the use of sandtray therapy.

Claudia is a Licensed Professional Counselor, National Certified Counselor, Registered Play Therapist and Certified School Counselor. She has worked with children and families since 1999. She is the owner and founder of Evergreen Journey Counseling, PLLC in Georgetown, Texas. With over 20 years of experience, she was a School Counselor of the Year Semi-Finalist in 2019 for the Lone Star School Counseling Association. She's truly passionate about using sandtray in a school setting with individual students and small groups. Currently, she is focused on her clinical private practice where she continues to children and families struggling with trauma, attachment and life by integrating sandtray, EMDR and play therapy to better serve her clients.
Rose LaPiere, LPC, RPT-S, ACS

Rose LaPiere, LPC is a trauma therapist who has helped children and families for over 20 years. She is a writer, presenter, certified NJ school psychologist, EMDR consultant, registered play therapist supervisor and synergetic play therapy supervisor. She works with children and adults through the lens of attachment, mindfulness, therapeutic powers of play, interpersonal neurobiology and family system theory. Rose has a passion for integrating nature and sand tray into therapy. She provides consultation sessions for therapists seeking certification in EMDR and those seeking to be a registered play therapist. She is the past president of the New Jersey Counseling Association-Creativity Division.
Jessica Stone, Ph.D., RPT-S

Dr. Jessica Stone, PhD is a licensed psychologist in the state of Colorado. She has served on a number of boards including WASTP, AutPlay, and the California branch of the Association for Play Therapy. Dr. Stone is an international speaker, clinical supervisor, and registered play therapist. She is the co-creator of The Virtual Sandtray, which has partnered with the Lowenfeld Trust, and is the developer of Digital Play Therapy. Dr. Stone has a deep respect and honor for sand therapies and is dedicated to assisting the WASTP board further their message and offerings.
Davi Stein-Kiley LCSW, LMFT, LCAC, RPT-S

As 2020 brought changes to many of us, Davi and her family transitioned to Indianapolis, Indiana to be nearer to extended family and subsequently launched Kiley Consulting and Counseling where she practices Brainspotting, Sandtray, play therapy and other modalities to assist clients in life’s pathways.An intentional learner, engaged listener, and systems organizer, she is committed to change that is trauma-informed, at all levels in communities. Historically and early in her career, she fell in love with helping young clients through all means of expression and play therapy which naturally led to sand tray work in the playroom. She later applied sand tray expression in all aspects of her work including management meetings, problem solving and strategic initiatives.
For nearly two decades she served at Youth First, Inc as a nonprofit leader providing clinical supervision, management, evaluation, and systems work to impact thousands of children in a 10-county area of Southwestern Indiana. Davi led the way in launching Resilient Evansville, a trauma informed community initiative meanwhile, training a staff and community members in play therapy and sand tray methods. She loves to experience the dynamic healing that sand tray delivers in all environments.
Yolanda Fountain Hardy, PhD, LPC, RPT-S, ACS, NCC

Yolanda Fountain is the owner of Play Wellness LLC in Roswell, Georgia and the founder of the Child Loss Center Inc. Dr. Fountain is a board-certified professional counselor, play therapy supervisor, sand therapy specialist, Certified Brainspotting Practitioner, Child Parent Psychotherapy (CPP) provider, and emerging yoga teacher (in training). She has provided mental health services to children, adults, and families since 2006, has presented over 150 times locally and internationally, has clinically supervised over 125 mental health professionals, and has taught master’s and doctoral level courses at multiple universities in-person and virtually since 2011.
Linda Homeyer, PhD, LPC-S, RPT-S

Linda provides sandtray therapy trainings and consultations. She works from a cross-theoretical model, although she most closely aligns with Adlerian Therapy. Linda publishes in the fields of sandtray therapy and play therapy. She is a Distinguished Professor Emerita from Texas State University where she began the play therapy and sandtray therapy programs, teaching them from many clinical theory perspectives. She is also a Director Emerita and received the Lifetime Achievement Award with the Association for Play Therapy. Linda has several sandtray therapy publications, including the books Advanced Sandtray Therapy: Digging Deeper in Clinical Practice, co-authored with Marshall Lyles, and Sandtray Therapy: A Practical Manual, co-authored with Daniel Sweeney.
Rita Grayson, LCSW, RPT-S

Rita began her sandtray therapy journey in 2005 when she began the 6-year, 6-level intensive training program in Sandtray-Worldplay under its creator, Dr. Gisela Schubach DeDomenico. She has over 250 hours of training in sand therapy and over 25 hours of individual supervision with Gisela. In 2015 she embarked on a journey to learn the neuroscience that supports working in the sand. She has over 150 hours of learning under the tutelage of Bonnie Badenoch, the author of The Heart of Trauma: Healing the Body-Brain in the Context of Relationships. In partnership with Bonnie, she modified the Sandtray-Worldplay technique to reflect the most recent findings in the field of neuroscience, creating The Body-Brain Approach to Sandtray Therapy, a neuroscientifically-informed psychodynamic approach. Rita has over 20 years of direct clinical experience working with children, adolescents, and adults and has been training, supervising, and mentoring sandtray therapists since 2012. She is co-editor of the book The Embodied Brain and Sandtray Therapy: Stories of Healing and Transformation, which is due to be published by the end of 2021.
